Mass Communication at the Touch of a Button

MPX offers the ability to broadcast a voice message to a targeted group or mass distribution list.  For Portland Symphony Orchestra, the decision to cancel an event due to weather conditions comes just hours before the event.  MPX queued a cancellation message and stood by for the decision to cancel.  Their customers appreciated the proactive notice of cancellation and the box office was able to turn information seeking calls into actionable calls to exchange tickets, saving them significant time.

News Coming Off the Press News and Events: Every year, MPX hosts several educational seminars and customer appreciation events. As events are scheduled, details will be posted, so check back often!

MPX CEO Ryan Jackson Accepted into Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO)

Portland, ME - January 3, 2012 - Ryan Jackson has been accepted into the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), New England Chapter.

YPO (www.ypo.org) is a global network connecting successful young chief executives in a unique way.  For over 60 years, the YPO membership has grown into an elite organization of approximately 11,000 business leaders in 110 countries.  Founded in New York City by a young president named Ray Hickok, the organization’s mission is Better Leaders Through Education and Idea Exchange™.

To join YPO, you must be under 45 years of age and be holding a position of chief operator of a qualifying company that meets the minimum size and revenue requirements.  Members are then “graduated” from YPO to the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO) at the age of 50, allowing them to continue to benefit from the YPO experience while recognizing changed priorities over time.

Ryan Jackson become CEO of MPX (www.mpxonline.com) (formerly Maine Printing Company/MPX) in September 2010 alongside President and CFO, Robert Willis (now a WPO member) and was urged to pursue membership at YPO by Mr. Willis, citing the tremendous benefits he has experienced during his time as a member of YPO and now WPO.  Since becoming CEO of MPX, Mr. Jackson and Mr. Willis started a new company, SFX America LLC (www.sfxamerica.com), holding the same titles and operating separately from MPX.

Members of YPO and WPO have stated that membership has a “profound, often life changing effect on their lives.”  The benefits often extend beyond exchanging ideas on a business platform.  Members have engaged in their networks to help them through difficult times both professionally and personally and value the close camaraderie that results from networking with some of the world’s most successful young leaders.

Mr. Jackson will share this experience with his wife, Kelsey, and family and hopes to bring much of the learning into his leadership roles at MPX and SFX to continue the rapid growth achieved by MPX over the years.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2009 Best Places to Work in Maine list is made up of 24 companies in the small/medium-sized list (15-249 employees) and 7 companies in the large-sized list (250+ employees). About the PEAK Awards

Print Solutions Magazine annually recognizes organizations with the Print Excellence And Knowledge (PEAK) Award. PEAK winners are selected based upon the ability of the recipient to meet client needs through a unique combination of print quality, creativity in design, production, fulfillment and other services.

MPX received PEAK Awards for the following projects.

    Electronic Forms/Document Management System

An international payment solutions provider selected MPX to design and implement a document management system that reduces the time and effort required to update corporate documents, as well as minimize legal exposure to outdated forms. MPX built a document management system that dynamically pulls data from the company’s partner profiles to automatically populate data into forms that sales representatives send to prospects via email. The recipient is then able click on a link in the email, which takes them to a form where they can then complete any missing information. Once all required information has been provided, the recipient clicks a submit button, which creates a printable file that can be signed, dated, and returned to the sender via FAX or email.

    Web-to-Print

MPX built a marketing solution for a national manufacturing organization that needed to streamline its process for creating and sending invitations to educational seminars where customers and prospects can learn more about their products and services. The company hosts hundreds of sales events across the United States each year.

MPX developed a comprehensive web-to-print application that allows the sender to change multiple variables for each event including speaker, topic, event date and time, location, RSVP information, continuing education credits, etc. Once completed, users can view a copy of the event invitation online, upload mailing lists, and place an order with just a few clicks of the mouse. Invitations are then printed and mailed within 2 business days.

    Data Management

A national telecommunications provider selected MPX to develop and implement a process for managing consumer data to minimize returned mail and maximize postage savings.

The solution developed by MPX includes a 2D barcode on each outgoing mail piece. The barcode contains customer information and job tracking data that allows every piece of mail to be tracked throughout the entire mail stream. In the event a mail piece is determined to be undeliverable by the U.S. Postal Service -- and needs to be returned to the sender -- it is sent to a P.O. Box managed by MPX on the client’s behalf. All mail received at this P.O. Box is picked up, sorted electronically and destroyed (if required) or shipped to the client per pre-defined instructions. Each returned piece is scanned upon receipt, and information from the 2D barcode is used to generate a call list for the client when no forwarding information has been provided. The company’s customer service team then proactively reaches out to customers to determine updated account information.

This solution has resulted in a dramatic reduction in returned mail and significant postage cost savings for the client.

MPX was presented as a PEAK Awards winner by Print Solutions Magazine during the Print Solutions Conference & Expo at the Navy Pier Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday, October 13, 2009

    PRESS RELEASE

Portland, Maine, March 5, 2008 - Maine Printing Company/MPX is the first Maine-based print solutions provider to achieve Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody Certification.

MPX has earned the FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification under the Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Forest Conservation Program.  This certification allows MPX to provide its clients with print products that carry the FSC logo, ensuring that the fiber used to produce these products can be traced through the supply chain to an FSC-certified well-managed forest.

MPX is the first print solutions provider to obtain FSC Chain-of-Custody certification in the Northeast and one of the first in the United States.  This not only sets MPX apart from its competitors, but also strengthens its relationships with clients who place a high priority on environmentally sound practices.

Demonstrating environmental leadership by supporting sound forest management is a priority for many of MPX’s clients.  In addition to the capability of passing on the FSC Chain-of-Custody claim on FSC certified materials, MPX has taken a leading role in working with clients to develop their own environmental initiatives and to implement their newly designed environmentally responsible corporate policies.
